Tired of hearing so much bad news? There is Good News in God’s Word. Join us at Our Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church to learn about God's Grace, the Love of Jesus Christ, and the Promise of Salvation.
"This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins" (1 John 4:9-10).
Points to Ponder
NO TIME FOR SILENCE
When Christ was born the heavens opened, angels sang their praise; even wisemen from afar came honoring “the new born King” with gifts.
If we remain silent, reluctant to give praise to Christ because of politics or shame, then listen to John the Baptist, “I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.” Mat. 3:11. God doesn’t need us. We’re privileged to know, praise and serve Him.
Because Christians are a shrinking minority and unbelievers boldly proclaim anti-Christian worldviews, let them not intimidate you or fear political harassment. We have God’s power in Christ’s gospel to change hearts, and in so doing, to change the world.
No matter how arrogant, boisterously loud, or articulate, are those opposing Christ, the Redeemer of all, they’re empty skirts and suits without hope--(Are you sure? They seem so confident.)---I am more confident than they, because they are without Christ. Forget not: “...there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12.
Therefore, confidently witness God’s love so the Holy Spirit can transform dead, unbelieving hearts into new creations alive in Christ.

SALVATION FOR WHOM?
Some have lived a life of sin—sexual relations with others rather than their spouses, children out of wedlock, divorcing each other negating marriage vows, taking what doesn’t belong to them, destroying their bodies with alcohol and drugs…there’s no end to the corruption we are suffocating in.
For why did Christ come? For whom did He come to save? With guilt and shame piling up until we are weighted down sucking dust.
What did Jesus mean, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:28,29.
How can this happen when I’m such a wretched soul? “But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. 1 John 2:1,2 (See also John 3:16.)
Is there anything greater than God’s love for sinners? Repent and believe! Salvation is yours!

“For it by grace that you are saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.”

The Lord's Prayer
Our Father who is in heaven, Holy is your name.
Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth and in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Yours is the kingdom, the power, the glory forever.
Amen.
